Mangatawhiri history Graeme Kenyon said: I am interested in the history of the naval camp (Harrier's Boat Station) which was established on the north bank of the Mangatawhiri stream, not far from Pokeno, (near today's Mangatawhiri bridge on the Auckland/Hamilton expressway). I have some early images of the boat station and also logbook entries from various men who were stationed there in late 1863. I would like to make contact with anyone with local knowledge of the area and an interest in exchanging historical information. Please contact me at .
